Weddings

Read what folks are saying about Rev. Claudine on the Testimonials page.

The two of you have made the commitment to merge your lives into one. Congratulations! Whether it’s a quick vow exchange in front of two witnesses, a modest gathering with only a small handful of loved ones, or a lavish event celebrating with family and friends, planning a wedding is an exciting time. It can also be a stressful time.

But first, let’s get the legal, boring stuff done. If you are more than three months away from your special day, great! We’ve got lots of time. If you’re under that three-month mark, put down that chocolate lava cake and click here! There’s no time to waste, but there’s still lots of time to create the event of your dreams.

Wondering what to expect when planning a wedding? Well, you could be “that” bride who has it all together and follows one of the many to-do checklists that Auntie Google (or your hired wedding planner) has to offer. That same organized bride might also run into a few hiccups like:

  • You throw your back out the week before the wedding
  • You get a vicious head cold the morning of the nuptials
  • You are forced to have someone you don’t like as your maid of honour because your future spouse doesn’t want her to feel left out (and you have to pay for her dress and her husband’s tux rental because they are broke, despite the fact that your fiance is unemployed as well)
  • DJ starts to play I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred instead of Pachelbel’s Canon as you begin your walk down the aisle
  • Your wedding song begins to skip halfway down the aisle
  • Your aunt, mother, and mother-in-law keep changing the buffet table arrangement because of how THEY want it to look. On high speed, it looks like a Three Stooges spoof
  • The best man steals your husband’s pants so that when you wake up in a hotel the next day, far from home, he only has his tuxedo pants to wear
  • It rains so hard on your actual wedding day that you have to pay another photographer for an outdoor photoshoot after-the-fact because your mother-in-law was upset that there were not enough photos, and she doesn’t have anything to frame and put on her mantle. The photos turn out terribly because you couldn’t afford a good photographer, and you never let anyone have any of the photos anyway.

Funny examples? Yes. But they all happened… To me, actually.

When you’re in the moment, your funny bone tends to go on hiatus. Looking back years later, my sense of ha-ha returned again, and I came to accept that my experiences are what made my memories mine.

I’m excited to be able to be here to help you with the process and give you guidance, direction to resources, or if you need it… an ear to bend or a shoulder to cry on. We’ve got this!
